Kevin Paul Finnell
Kevin Paul Finnell was one of our founding members of F&M Hairdressing.
Co-Director and life partner of Brian, Kevin was a shining light within our salon and known throughout Barrhead for his passion for hairdressing and his love of and support for the local community.
Kevin's Story
Beginning his career in a local salon in the early 1980’s Kevin sought a career in hairdressing by chance, originally wanting to become an actor. After joining the salon team in Barrhead, Kevin’s passion for hairdressing grew, specifically within creative cutting.   His love of people, the electric and positive atmosphere had him hooked.

Fast forward a few years and Kevin’s career had continued to progress, and he worked within three prestigious salons in both Glasgow and Bournemouth, gaining vital experience and continuously building on his skills and techniques. Kevin began show work and took part in seminars and educational sessions, helping the younger generations build their own skills whilst continuously learning himself.
Having met Brian, Kevin took the risk to move back to Glasgow and together, Kevin and Brian developed their plan to open their very own salon. Going back to his roots, Kevin and Brian took over the salon premises where Kevin had first started out his hairdressing journey, a fitting tribute to his hairdressing career. F&M Hairdressing was formed in 2001.

As time went on, the pair added to the team and quickly realised they were outgrowing the space. They looked endlessly to find a larger premises and they soon found the salons current location of 29-31 Cross Arthurlie Street.
Kevin was over the moon with the new premises - a large, much more creative space which would allow the team to expand and the duo to welcome many more clients. Kevin loved every second of the new space and together with Brian developed a fantastic team and community spirit. With a fully booked column daily and a waiting list, Kevin was known to all for his incredible skill and expertise - and of course his creative, fun side too.
His love of his team and community involvement was shown through every aspect of his life.

Kevin will forever be missed by us all x
